Literature Text

I’m talking to the wall and I’m talking to the sky
And I’m talking to the floor and I’m talking out my eyes.
I try to talk to you, but you ignore me.
I try to wake you up when you start snoring.
I’m talking out your ear and I’m talking up your nose
And I’m tingling down my spine as I’m talking to my toes.
I’m talking to myself, people think I’m crazy,
Trying to be normal…  It’s not so easy
~When other people talking, too,
You think they’re talking to you.
They’re not talking to you.
Who are you talking to?
When other people talking, too,
You think they’re talking to you.
They’re not talking to you.
Who are you talking to?~
I’m talking to my friend, but now she’s talking to you.
She tells a funny joke and I don’t know what to do.
I can’t stop laughing, or I’ll start crying.
I see you laughing.  I think I’m dying.
I try to run away, I want to curl up and hide,
But then you come and find me.  I start glowing on the inside.
Then I get angry at my own feelings.
I feel stupid cuz I don’t know the meaning
~When other people talking, too,
You think they’re talking to you.
They’re not talking to you.
Who are you talking to?
When other people talking, too,
You think they’re talking to you.
They’re not talking to you.
Who are you talking to?~
I’m talking to myself, trying to feel brave
To tell you how I feel, but what if I can’t say it?
I need to get to know you, I keep asking all these questions
Like, “Do you have a girlfriend?”  I ignore what you don’t mention.
You don’t say yes or no, your answers are confusing me,
But you’re so pretty and I get distracted easily.
Of all my stupid questions, there’s one I forgot to ask.
Now it’s probably gonna come back to bite me on the ass, cuz
~When other people talking, too,
You think they’re talking to you.
They’re not talking to you.
Who are you talking to?
When other people talking, too,
You think they’re talking to you.
They’re not talking to you.
Who are you talking to?~
I’m walking up to you.  I say we need to talk.
I finally say, “I like you.”  …You say, “Yeah-huh.”
You look me in the eyes and tell me I’m very sweet.
It’s clearly a rejection, what was I expecting it to be?
But in my heart, I’m still hoping.
You need to let me down so I’ll start coping.
You say, “You’re very sweet, but I’m pretty sure I’m gay.”
I lie and tell you, “Yeah,” when you ask if I’m okay,
Because I will be, but for now I’ll miss ya.
My friends tried to tell me, I didn’t listen.
~When other people talking, too,
You think they’re talking to you.
They’re not talking to you.
Who are you talking to?
When other people talking, too,
You think they’re talking to you.
They’re not talking to you.
Who are you talking to?~
The first verse and refrain randomly came to me in the shower.  The rest is something of a true story, though that's surprisingly not where the story ended.
